Derechos de las personas con discapacidad

A lo largo de la historia, se ha concebido a las personas con discapacidad desde el déficit y las limitaciones funcionales, se les ha considerado como incapaces de valerse por sí mismas y como una carga para su familia y la sociedad. La discapacidad ha sido colectivamente estigmatizada como un problema individual o una enfermedad que debe ser curada para que las personas estén en condiciones de ser integradas a la sociedad.  Es decir, bajo esta perspectiva de la discapacidad se entiende que es la persona quien es incapaz de integrarse a la sociedad y por tanto, su exclusión es inevitable.

Human rights human wrongs: In the scale of human consciense

My objective in this initial attempt is simply to share my understanding of human rights, and experience of human wrongs, on the scale of my inner conscience of right and wrong. I have raised these issues with the expectation that they will be understood as only a small addition in the many researches, analyses and actions aimed at making humanity able to enjoy greater dignity and rights, live in greater freedom from fear and want in the future than it has been able to do in the past and the present. An Epilogue: From the Commission to the Council serves as a postscript on what has really changed after the replacement of the Commission by the Council as the principal inter-governmental mechanism of the UN devoted to Human Rights.
